Master Jeweler John Fulton Matta
While employed by the railroad over forty years ago, John Fulton Matta discovered his love for designing unique jewelry. His first creation, a handsome bracelet made from scrap insulator wire found on the tracks, led him to the jeweler’s bench where he has been tooling and designing for the past four decades. John is now a Master Jeweler and the owner and head designer of John Fulton Jewelers. An alumnus of the Gemological Institute of America and expert in repair and antique restoration he prides himself on combining the very best of old and new design, while always delivering traditional and trusted values. John’s extensive experience offers a range of contemporary designs and many unique estate pieces at the flagship store located in charming downtown Bethel, Connecticut. You will typically find him at the bench tooling fine metals and working with some of the world's most precious stones. It is what he does best, ensuring that every one of JFJ’s customers enjoys a unique experience and the highest quality of service. It is his personal guarantee to you.
Jewelry Concierge Kate Dargaty
Kate studied the fine arts and biology in college with the goal of becoming a medical illustrator, but she could never visualize sitting behind a computer all day. In 2000 Kate moved to California where she took a part-time holiday job at a jewelry store. During that time, she realized that jewelry is the perfect combination of art and science and fell in love with the trade. Kate, an alumnus of the Gemological Institute of America, considers herself a jewelry stylist. She says, “My favorite part of working in the industry is helping people step outside their comfort zone. I also show them that most jewelry can be worn every day, not just for special occasions. I love learning about and celebrating each individual’s personal sense of style.”
Stop in and visit John and Kate. They would love to meet you and assist you with all your jewelry needs.
